New Beginning

Alright... Since, I'm at a loss of words, thought, and imagination (atm), I need input as to what the storyline/plot is going to be.


Ideas?

Give me a starting point, then I can deff think up things ;o

I know some of the necessities that the story must work around such as the nations, the races, and the histories.

For the record, this world is called Malyre. There are 6 continents (kinda...). Serratus/Garutian, Istaria, Athera, Cirran, Grath, and Carthage.

Garutian (Serratus)
To the high north west is an vast collection of broken islands with jagged insurmountable cliffs called Serratus. At one point, it was it's own continent, however, at the time, those many island had been joined as one to create one large, very mountainous mass of land (about the size of greenland). After one cataclysmic event, the entire continent was shattered to piece and the entire civilization that once inhabited it was lost in a single day.
The last remnants of this race of people (Serrat's) integrated into the populace of the nearest( and second oldest) nation, Istaria.
After a few more centuries of war, the sky-borne Laguz (namely the Hawks and Ravens) claimed the Serratus islands as their home, which is now referred to as Garutian
In current times, they thrive by raiding ships that either crash land on their shores (which happens quite frequently because of the rough seas and thick fog which surrounds the isles) or those that wandering into range of scouting parties (which will pirate these ships to no end).

Istaria:
After crossing the Balien Sea to the east of Garutian, you'll arive at the northern beaches of Istaria, or more likely, one of it's numerous port-towns.

In the most most central part of Istaria is the capital city of Lyra. Therein lies the Grand Colloseum, which serves a unique purpose.
First I have to dsscribe their government system.

Lyra is a republic that is run by the Senate. Their Senators are elected by the people of the region the serve. However, during the election campaigns, these senators -- instead of slandering one another and using dirty tactics -- will quite literally fight against each other to prove their worth and to increase their chances of being relected by gaining favor among their people. The same thing happens when views differ; when two or more senators disagree very passionately on a particular topic and don't err towards the side of reason, they will take their debates to the colloseum.
These battles are always held in Lyra's Grand Colloseum, which can house thousands of spectators (which is frequently does). The colloseum fights are always well-regulated and precautions are taken to prevent death from any participating parties. That does not mean these bouts are any less brutal.
Naturally these Senators grow to be excellent warriors and hold much esteem in their society.

The Senate is, in fact, quite diverse in race. Beorcs (Humans) and Laguz (Shapeshifters) can run for election and hold senatorial positions. There is no racial discrimination here.

Despite being on the northern end of continent, Istaria is and arid and somewhat dry place that is composed of vast savanna and rolling hills.
